hubris (countable and uncountable, plural hubrises)

  1. Excessive pride, presumption or arrogance (originally toward the gods).

Since the introduction of solids into the diet, the very boldness of thinking to change nappies is seen as a deceit before god.  And I, the changer of nappies, have been punished with a shock to the senses that melts my face off on a regular basis.  The closest thing I can liken it to is if your skin, hair and eyes all grew a thousand tiny noses and you turned into a giant amplified smell receptor.  Every part of the nappy is suddenly violating your person with abrasive force.
