Mothers and fathers alike can probably (hopefully?) echo this sentiment; the seeming deterioration of identity.  The waves of parenthood collide and careen against the atoll of self from all sides until the lagoon that is uniquely you has spilled out and become one with the tears, laughs, hopes and fears that children bring.

An insidious phenomenon that only becomes apparent when it’s too late.  And in a weird sense, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
