A humanist of great sensibility and intellect, Nino Sanciolo loved the arts in all their expression and became a true connoisseur who shared this passion with others.

Sanciolo’s work in the fields of journalism, painting, poetry, narrative and essay writing was awarded many times at the highest level in Italy and Australia.

His paintings have been included in exhibitions representing great artists of the mid twentieth century such as Guttuso, Levi and De Chirico

Nino Sanciolo 2006 Prize Winner Selected for the Archibald
Natasha Bieniek was selected for the 2011 Archibald National Portrait prize competition held by the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Her painting, “When the Music’s Over” won her the 2006 Nino Sanciolo prize to study at the Accademia D’Arte in Florence. For more information contact info@ninosanciolo.com

 

2011 Nino Sanciolo Gift to Art
The Nino Sanciolo Fund has assisted the return to Sicily of two art works. These were recovered in Australia through an initiative of Opere D’arte Rubate, an investigative arm of Extroarte, Palermo. The repatriation was facilitated by the Italian Consulate General in Sydney and in collaboration with the Nino Sanciolo Art Fund.

 

Concert - Nino Sanciolo 2010 Scholarship
The closing event of the 2010 Nino Sanciolo Scholarship will be held at the Italian Cultural Institute, 233 Domain Road South Yarra on Sunday November 27th 2011 at 3pm. The prize winner, Susan Gamble, has returned from her scholarship funded singing studies in Italy and will perform operatic arias and art songs. The concert is free of charge.
